Evangelism And Missions

RIPPLE

Ripple Jackson

Reach Jackson is an initiative to meet the greatest needs of those in our community.  We prepare for and do this in various ways.  In all though, we strive to share the love of Jesus Christ in gospel conversations in equipping courses, service opportunities, relationship development, and divine encounters within our local spheres of influence.

Ripple Jackson opportunities for 2024 are in the works.  Check back soon to register for one of our upcoming 2024 equipping or ministry projects.  Contact Pastor Josh Warner with any questions.

Past Ripple Jackson Projects

- Local Service Ministry – we lovingly find opportunities to serve the community and share the love of Jesus Christ in the process.  One example passion Grace has is to provide both liquid water and living water to many at Jackson’s monthly car shows held downtown.

- Local Kids Ministry – we strategically go into local housing complexes and public parks to present gospel messages with art, song, and object lessons to the end of developing relationships with children and parents and reaching them for Christ.

- Local Adult Ministry – we prayerfully enter various public venues with the goal of engaging people with the gospel using creative and innovative visuals.

Ripple World

Ripple World is an initiative to meet the greatest needs of those outside of our immediate spheres of influence – often this requires traveling to where the people live and contextualizing the gospel message.  We do this in various ways to provide gospel opportunities for those at Grace to help reach the world.

Past Ripple World Efforts

-Short term evangelism trips in the US – we prayerfully select and travel to US locations in partnership with local churches and evangelists in those regions.  The goal is always to responsibly present the gospel to unchurched people in a contextualized manner.  Example locations include Michigan (Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Mt. Pleasant, South Haven, and others), Boston, Chicago, New York, Tampa, and others.

-Short-term missions trips throughout the world – we faithfully partner with missionaries that have Great Commission plans connected with local churches in locations where Jesus is not known or trusted by grace alone through faith alone.  Over the years Grace has teamed with local pastors to facilitate local church planting and evangelism in places like Costa Rica, India, Nepal, Panama, Turkey, and others.

- Cooperation with mobilized evangelism and missions efforts – Grace Church takes great joy in cooperating with other like-minded autonomous churches, parachurch organizations, and independent faith-based missionaries to do responsible missions and evangelism in locations to which our Church can’t logistically travel.  Some of our example cooperative efforts include participation with NAMB, IMB, Operation Christmas Child, and others.

Ripple Equip

Through the Grace Equip program we intentionally endeavor to train disciples to uphold the gospel in a post-Christian world by holding it high evangelistically and holding it strong defensively.  We regularly teach courses on ripple topics such as personal evangelism, global missions, navigating culture, and more.

Equip courses related to evangelism and missions for 2024 are in the works.  Check back soon to register for one of our upcoming 2024 equipping or ministry projects.  Contact Pastor Josh Warner with any questions.

- Evangelism Equipping – we seek to Biblically train people to do evangelism in a secular world – example course description: What should we expect in our current cultural moment?  How do we do evangelism in our everyday relationships?  How do we respond with wisdom when someone challenges our faith?  This course equips students to share the gospel in their personal spheres of influence through the use of books, videos, and discussion of real-world experiences.

- Christian Ethics Equipping – we come alongside and help equip people to converse within our changing culture – example course description:  A relevant issue of our time is understanding how to Biblically relate to the culture on controversial identity issues.  Consider these questions: What is a Biblical perspective concerning identity?  How should the Church understand transgender or sexuality questions?  How should a Christian interact with topics such as tolerance, diversity, equity, and inclusion?  This course equips students to interact with the relevant Scripture texts and a host of other video and print resources to have productive conversations in our culture with truth and love.

- World Missions Equipping – we teach people to do and think about missions responsibly – example course description:  The Word of God must define and direct the work of missions. A biblical and theological foundation of missions is critical not only for missionaries, but also for the churches who send and support them. In view of Christ's command to make disciples among all the nations, we need to know who missionaries are, what missionaries do, why the church must send missionaries, and how the church can help them succeed. This course will answer the questions of who the International Mission Board (IMB) is, what they do, and how their Core Values, Core Convictions, and Missiological Convictions affect how they live and work around the world.
